I see that Frankie and the Heartstrings are opening for the Vaccines tonight somewhere up north. I'd pencilled in this band to stick in my blog ages ago and it clear slipped my mind. I'm sorry about that because they are an excellent band, very much in the Franz Ferdinand/Pulp vein. They definitely have an art college feel to them and I don't mean this as any slight. If you can do it well, as Art Brut do, then it's a joy. There's less laughs with Frankie though - they're quite a tight outfit and well worth seeing live. Apparently they tore up Reading this year.
