The Smiths debut album was released on this day in 1984. This track still sounds as hard-hitting now as it did then. Manchester, so much to answer for.

As band names go 'Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes' is just about the best I've heard in years but this Swedish band back it up with a cracking synth-based track. Love it.

björk - 'crystalline (omar souleyman remix)'

I'm proud to say I have all the remixes from Björk's Biophilia album. This especially is a big favourite.

garbage - 'sometimes'

They don't always do it for me but every now and then there's a Garbage track that is just brilliant. Case in point.

talk talk - 'today'

I've no idea why but there gets to a point most Sundays where I feel an overwhelming urge to listen to Talk Talk.

oddfellows casino - 'don't let the cold in'

Very nice.

Can't beat a bit of American folk on a Sunday.

Baby might suck but this tune rocks.

The new Clock Opera album is quite beautiful. I don't know what I prefer, the voice, the tunes or the lyrics. They're all first-rate.

Jesca Hoop's latest album will certainly be on a lot of Best of 2017 lists at the end of the year and it's not difficult to see why.

I need to get hold of his new album and give it a good listen. This is the first track I've heard from it and it's very Springsteen-ish which isn't necessarily my go to artist but I do like Ryan Adams previous stuff so curious to know what the rest of the album sounds like.

Northern Mali music is far different from the Malian music you'd normally expect to hear. This is a very bluesy affair harking to Deep South USA far more than their Southern Mali counterparts. This is the first track from Tinariwen's new album 'Elwan'.
