Mali consistently produces top quality musicians and Songhoy Blues are no exception to this long-held rule. Originally from Timbuktu but exiled to Bamako due to civil unrest, they were picked up by the excellent Africa Express and then Damon Albarn gave them the opportunity on the world stage. This track is taken from their debut album and it's a wonderful African/Western crossover.
