Fantastic stuff from Polly Scattergood and James Chapman. I've been a big fan of Ms Scattergood for quite a while and she was one of the first musicians that I blogged about when I started this flight of fancy 6 years ago! This is the first track from their new album out last week. Love it.

I'm a bit slow in blogging this, it's Ms Scattergood's new video to her track 'Wanderlust' and is from her new album due out in the summer. The tune is wonderfully 80s electro whereas the video is a classic endless loop affair and I'm extremely pleased to see how many hits it's had so far in the last week. More power to Polly's extremely talented elbow.

Here's a very welcome return from my favourite Essex girl, Ms Scattergood. She's playing Brighton next Wednesday at the Green Door Store and I'm hoping she really mixes it up regarding her set with a healthy mix of old and new. This song is very much new and I think shows that she's really starting to come into her own with her music. It starts somewhat portentously and true to the song title the disco kicks in and hey presto, it's a perfectly crafted anthem. I've said it before but a talent this good deserves a lot of success.

Brighton beat Colchester rather comfortably, 2-0 tonight to extend our lead at the top. To celebrate the win over our Essex opponents I've decided to pick 2 songs by 2 very classy Essex girls, Polly Scattergood and Alison Moyet. I mean that sincerely and without any sense of irony. I'm big fans of both of these singers. 

They share a link apart from the county of birth. Everyone knows that Alison used to be in Yazoo, seminal English 80s electronic pop duo with Vince Clarke and he has also remixed Polly Scattergood's 'Other Too Endless' single. Yet another coincidence, Polly is from Colchester...and her video to 'Please Don't Touch' was filmed in Brighton. It's symmetry, I tell you.
