You know that phrase 'achingly beautiful'? I've used it a fair bit in the past until I read an article about music reviews and it was cited as one of the stock cliches most often used and since then I've assiduously tried to avoid using it until now. I'm bereft of other words to describe this quite brilliant track from Norwegian band The White Birch who draw big influences from bands such as Codeine and Sigur Ros. The new album is stunning on first listen and one of those lovely moments when you first hear an album that you know you will grow to love. It really is that good.
Seeing as I'm struggling to describe this tune without resorting to cheap hyperbole I'll let the music do the talking.
